Visitors

Visitor Policy
According to current policy, we are maintaining a list of visitors in case of the need for contact tracing. All visitors (or hosts for each visitor) should send an email to schedule@astro.princeton.edu, letting staff know who will be visiting, the dates of the visit, the visitor’s email address and the visitor’s vaccination status. If a visitor is unvaccinated, they should wear a mask while inside university buildings. We will similarly maintain lists of visitors for departmental events that are open to non-Princeton personnel.

Visitor Parking
Effective October 3, 2022 general visitor parking on campus has been moved from Lot 23 to Stadium Drive Garage, where daily visitor parking permits will be required between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm on weekdays. The visitor permit process takes less than one minute and can be completed in advance online or after parking at the garage using the QR code posted in the elevator and by the exits. When expecting groups of visitors or planning an event with outside attendees, departments should reach out to Transportation and Parking Services regarding additional parking support and/or options. Note that most campus lots and garages become available to the public at 4:00 pm daily and throughout the weekend. Directions to Peyton Hall and 171 Broadmead from various locations can be found here.

Visitor Apartments
The Department of Astrophysical Sciences rents two 2-bedroom apartments in the Lawrence apartment complex, for use by department visitors free of charge. Anyone coming to Princeton to work with a member(s) of the Astrophysical Sciences Department, or who is a guest speaker in the department, is eligible to stay in one of these visitor apartments. Apartment availability is first requested, first-served.  In accordance with University policy, current department members are not eligible to stay in the visitor apartments with the exception of those officially working remotely, when they come to work with those in Princeton. Any questions about the visitor apartments, including requests to book it, should be addressed to schedule@astro.princeton.edu.
