Biography

Leng Ying Khoo is a postdoctoral research associate interested in experimental space physics. She completed her doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering Sciences at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her thesis work involves analyzing measurements of energetic electrons, mainly from Van Allen Probes, to identify the underlying mechanism behind the sudden enhancement of energetic electrons in the inner magnetosphere. In addition, she serves as the instrument scientist for an energetic particle solid-state telescope instrument onboard a NASA-funded CubeSat mission named CIRBE. Her main responsibility lies in characterizing the instrument using Monte-Carlo simulations like the Geant4 model.

At Princeton, she will continue building on her experience in experimental space physics to help build the Solar Wind and Pickup Ion (SWAPI) instrument for the IMAP mission and analyze energetic particle data from Parker Solar Probes.
