Nathaniel Fisch, a professor of Astrophysical Sciences in the Plasma Physics Program, is one of four recipients of this year’s President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching.  He was selected by a committee of administrators, faculty, undergraduates and graduate students to win the award.  He has taught at Princeton since 1978 and his research focuses on plasma physics. Prof. Fisch was the Director of Graduate Studies in the Program in Plasma Physics for 33 years, building it to the pre-eminent program in the country.  No less than 76 current and former students and colleagues of Prof. Fisch wrote letters of support for his nomination for the Distinguished Teaching award, a testament to his decades-long leadership of the Program.

In the University article describing the award, students and colleagues describe him as having “limitless curiosity” and fostering “warm and supportive environment where students enjoy the freedom to become extraordinary.”

Congratulations, Nat on this well deserved honor.
