A multinational collaborative effort led by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, including scientists from Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University, released the first dataset from the Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Program (HSC-SSP) to the public on February 27th, 2017. HSC-SSP is a large sky survey using the HSC optical imaging camera mounted on the Subaru Telescope. The HSC has 104 scientific CCDs (870 Megapixels total) and a 1.77 square-degree field of view.
