FACULTY AND STUDENT AWARD: Greene and Dalal receive inaugural Best of Access, Diversity, and Inclusion (BADI) Awards from The Graduate School of Princeton University

Jenny Greene

Jenny Greene, Professor of Astrophysical Sciences will receive the BADI Faculty Champion Award which recognizes a faculty leader who has been a dedicated supporter of graduate student, community, organizational, and/or systemic needs related to diversity, access, inclusion, and/or social justice issues at Princeton and beyond.  Greene is currently the Equity and Inclusion Coordinator for the Astrophysical Sciences Department, and chairs the department’s Climate Committee.  She is also the Princeton University faculty lead for the Prison Teaching Initiative, which teaches accredited college courses for incarcerated individuals in New Jersey prisons. 

 

Roohi Dalal

The Princeton Women in STEM Leadership Council will be recognized with the BADI Outstanding Programming Award.  This award is presented to an organization, event, conference, series, workshop, etc. geared toward underrepresented minority graduate students that advances access, diversity, inclusion, social justice, or community-building.  Roohi Dalal, a graduate student in the Department of Astrophysical Sciences, is President of the Princeton Women in STEM Leadership Council.  Dalal is also a member of the Climate Committee for Equity and Inclusion in the Astrophysical Sciences Department.

 

Greene, Dalal, and the other recipients will receive their awards on May 11th and 12th at the Inclusive Academy Symposium.  Congratulations to all and thank you for your dedication!
