Eve Ostriker, a faculty member in Princetron’s Astrophysics department, was one of five Princeton University professors recognized by the Simons Foundation for their influential collaborations between the field of mathematics and other fields in science or engineering.

Eve was recognized for her “major contributions to our understanding of the role of the interstellar medium in star formation and galactic structure and evolution, with a focus on the role of turbulence and on the effects of energy returned by massive stars to the interstellar medium.”  The award provides $100,000 annually for an initial five years and $10,000 to the investigator’s department.  The award can be renewed for an additional five years.
