Alexandra Amon, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Astrophysical Sciences, has been selected to receive a Sloan Research Fellowship in Physics. Recipients of the Sloan Research Fellowship represent the most promising early-career scientists working today.
As a cosmologist, she uses large-scale surveys of galaxies to study dark matter, dark energy and the structure of the universe, specifically the clustering of galaxies and the subtle distortion of their shapes due to the bending of their light by gravity.
Former NASA Sagan Fellow at Princeton, Sarah C. Millholland (now at MIT) also received a Fellowship this year.
Congratulations to Alex and Sarah!
