Princeton awards Jeremiah Ostriker honorary Doctor of Science degree

Jeremiah Ostriker was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree for his lifelong contribution to the sciences during Princeton's commencement exercises on June 6, 2017.  Jerry joined the Princeton faculty in 1965, was a leader in the development of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, went on to become the Astrophysical Sciences department chair and eventually Princeton University's provost.  Jerry recently celebrated his 80th birthday during a one day symposium on Physics and Galaxy Formation.
